The Graduate School of Social Sciences (GSSS) at the University of Bremen invites applications to its 3-year Ph.D. program from October 1, 2007to September 30, 2010.

The GSSS is part of an international network of graduate education and is funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. The GSSS offers 9 stipends for Ph.D. fellows of EUR 1000/month for 36 months, contingent on successfulcompletion of each year. Funding is also available for empirical research and travel.

We invite applications within the three thematic fields of the GSSS:
Transnational Relations and Political Theory
Welfare State Transformation
Social Change and the Life Course
