Call for applications

The International Research Fellowship Programme provides funding support to international visiting fellows at the Monash European and EU Centre,Monash University (Caulfield campus) in Melbourne , Australia , for periods of up to one month.

Grants of up to A$11,000 are available to assist with airfares, visa processing, accommodation and living away from home expenses while in Melbourne .

Closing date for applications: 7 March 2011

The purpose of this initiative is to Build collaboration between Monash University researchers in European and European Studies and partners elsewhere in Australia or overseas in research themes of interest to the Monash European and EU Centre;Provide stimulus and growth to the Centre’s research environment;Strengthen the research profile of the Centre.

Visiting Academics are encouraged to visit Monash during semester periods:March to JuneJuly to November

Conditions of the fellowship:
Visiting Fellows must be in residence in Melbourne during the time of their fellowship;Visiting Fellows will be provided with office space and will have access to a networked computer with access to email and the Internet;They will have access to Monash University Library;Visiting Fellows are to
continue to be employed by their home institution while undertaking research in Australia ;If you are not Australian, you must satisfy relevant visa requirements, which Monash University Human Resources Division will discuss with successful candidates.The grant is not for specifically teaching and lecturing, however the recipient shall be required to deliver at least one public lecture or research seminar,
and to take an active role with the Centre’s Higher Degree by Research students;Fellows will be encouraged to take part in the activities of the Centre, including outreach initiatives, conferences and seminars.

The completed application form must be submitted by the closing date, along with a 1-2 page description of the proposed research project, a current CV and details of two referees. An application form is attached. A Flyer advertising the Fellowships is also attached.
